Terms & Conditions (T&Cs)

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and services provided by Scone with the Wind. By making a booking or engaging our services, you agree to the following:


1. Bookings & Payment

  • A booking is only confirmed once a deposit (if required) has been received.
  • Deposits will cover the cost of food and drink preparations and are calculated for each individual event.
  • Full payment is due by the agreed date before or on the date of the event.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a booking if payment is not received on time.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  • If you cancel more than 2 weeks before the event, your deposit will be refunded in full.
  • If you cancel within 2 weeks, your deposit may be retained to cover costs already incurred.
  • In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel, any payments made will be refunded in full.

3. Guest Numbers

  • Final guest numbers must be confirmed no later than 7 days before the event.
  • Charges will be based on the confirmed number, or the actual number served (whichever is higher).

4. Service & Venue Requirements

  • The client is responsible for ensuring suitable access and space for us to set up.
  • If power or water supply is required, this must be arranged in advance.
  • Any delays caused by lack of access may reduce service time but will not reduce fees.
  • Please ensure that information requested at time of booking or later regarding site and resource availability is accurate.

5. Allergies & Dietary Requirements

  • We take great care with food preparation; however, all products are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens including gluten, nuts, and dairy.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to inform us of any dietary requirements in advance.
  • We cannot accept liability for reactions where we have not been made aware of allergies.

6. Liability

  • We will not be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control (e.g. extreme weather, road closures, venue issues).
  • Our liability for any claim arising out of our services shall not exceed the total fees paid for that booking.

7. Community & Charity Events

  • We are proud to support non-profit and charitable events. Special pricing or agreements for such events will be confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

At Scone with the Wind, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy our cream tea experience. We are committed to making our services as accessible and inclusive as possible.

  • Event Access: We will always do our best to adapt to the access requirements of each venue. If you have specific mobility or access needs, please let us know when booking so we can make suitable arrangements.
  • Dietary Requirements: We aim to accommodate dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options where possible. Please notify us in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
  • Communication: If you need information in an alternative format (such as large print or plain text), we will provide this on request.
  • Support: We warmly welcome carers, support workers, and assistance animals at all events we attend.

Licensing information

We are a registered Food Business under Huntingdonshire District Council.

We prepare and make our food in a commercial kitchen, managed by the local authority. They are compliance with food hygiene standards. We vend from our renovated caravan which is also compliant with Food Standards Agency hygiene rules.

Any/ all members of the baking or service team hold the Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
